Engagement Photo Day

April and Ricky's Engagement Photos took place at Poplar Creek Barn in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

 

On a snowy January day, we arrived at Poplar Creek and started taking photos inside the barn with the full family. Right away I could tell this family was happy, full of love, aaaaand pretty crazy as well. The perfect match for my photography style. ​

Inside this rustic barn is filled with my favorite warm color tones. The giant LOVE illuminated sign it a perfect backdrop for just about any Wedding related occasion. We snapped a few of the entire fam, as well as some individual photos. Of course the kids had to make some silly faces too!

After the inside photos we moved out to the field behind Poplar Creek. There was just enough snow falling to create great bokeh in the shots as I had the family take some walking photos. After a few hugs, we let the kids go play with the kittens and moved on to some more "lovey dovey" photos.

April and Ricky were pretty much in their element hugging each other, nuzzling noses along the creek and hold each other close by the poplar trees.

​

I had the couple change into their second outfit next and we moved to the pine tree location. As April was wearing a dress, it was time for Ricky to keep her warm. Holding her tight made the perfect shots for some up close, "wooded scenes". 

​

I think this session was one of my favorite winter sessions I've ever taken. Something about their love, the lightly falling snow, and one of my favorite venues made this session just so memorable for me! 

​

I can't wait to shoot their June wedding this year. I just know it'll be an amazing day filled with love, laughs, and all sorts of amazing moments!
